Caught Dead

Sorry for the s/lack of posting. My rents computer stinks and you may or may not be able to go to anywhere on the internet. Lately, it has been 'may not'. Anyway, there are some extreme sentences that to me have been pretty hilarious lately. In particular, the sentence "I wouldn't be caught dead with/doing/wearing/etc." I've decided to take it a little more literally. For example, when a friend and I were watching the TZ Wife Swap came on. Appropriate...Check. When he asked if I wanted to watch it I said "I wouldn't be caught dead watching this". I did note other things that, Yes! I would be caught dead watching. I would be caught dead watching the Sarah Silverman Show, I would be caught dead watching Good Eats and Yes!! I would be caught dead watching Paul Rudd!!!!!(que Dream Weaver).

Just imagine, I'm laying there...of all things, I'm dead...and the TZ is on Wife Swap. How embarrassing!!??!! I can see it now....

It's C*O*L*D COLD!!!

Just kidding. Not blizzard of '05 cold, but nonetheless cold. Which is only one letter away from the ideal situation - scold. I dream about burning right now. NC, specifically Raleighwoods, I miss you.

I heard I missed quite the night last night. They ran in to my old friend "Dreads". Now he may be or may not be involved in a boy story. I had a mustache drawn on my finger which I could bring to my nose and look quite hot. He happened to look at me so I gave him the finger, the mustache finger. Not amused. In fact, he said "I fail to see the humor in that" even though he laughed, which I noted to him. I'm not really sure where he was going with that set but unfortunately for him I'm not that in to patchouli.

Life with Mom and Dad

Yes. That's where I'm at. And I came at a bad time. I'm pretty much stuck indoors and the only people around are mom and dad (usually not bad, but pretty weird this time). The weather since I have been here has been gross rainy/snowy/rainy except for one really nice day where I promised my mom I would go to the mall with her which took up the entire day. Bummer city.

On a good note, I'll be meeting up with a few folks from "back in the day" (that's for you Sarah). To start off way back in the day with Natron Ketchel of Morgan's brother. I don't think I've seen him since high school except for that one time I saw him at Fins of New Bedford, where you have to straighten your cap before entering. Gang city.

Next, I'll meet with Morgan of Natron's sister and talk about babies probably. Preggars city, I guess.

Then, I'll meet up with Maegan Olson of NCSU fame in the great state of Vermont. The green mountain state. The state of the prom two episodes below. I'm really pumped about this one because it's a slumber party and if we remember slumber parties with Maegan = guns in our face. Gun city (keepin' the trend).

Then, on the way home I'm prolly going to meet #1 and possible #2 of gym friend fame. Yes, I, once referred to as gym friend #3, am reuniting the group for one macho evening. We'll probably listen to a lot of Maria Carey and eat tofurkey (seriously, #1 is a proud veggie and #2 loves terrible terrible pop). Note the Hillary Duff poster in the background.

Then, it's up to Boston to visit Colleen and have my graduation dinner. Score!

Cleaning house

So, I'm going through all of my things and it's bringing back a lot of memories. Some are great, some I can't believe I kept stuff from and others are unbelievably sad.

It's like every nook and cranny have something! I just found a rap I wrote back in 2002 shoved in a pocket of my CD collection. It has all three types of memories noted right in the lyrics. Great times with my old roommate, I'm a terrible rapper, and my new excitement about my boyfriend at the time.

Well, hopefully I won't have to do this again. I doubt it though.

Here is one fabulous memory I did find.

This is from the 2003 UVM Prom which was a total BUST!! It didn't even happen. HOWEVER, UVM completely made up for it during the 2004 Prom which may or may not have been the best party I have ever been to. Thank you Chris Kessler. I'll never forget being DD for the team driving the UMass athletics 15 passenger van which I had to pull over to allow Chris out. It was hilarious as was the entire party.

Day 1, the move

No, I'm not talking about birth (mostly stolen from Steven Wright) I'm talking about driving from MA to CA. The plan is to begin 1/1/2009. Hopefully we'll get to the Columbus area by the evening and begin a whole lot of nothingness after. Next big stop will be somewheres around Denver or maybe a few states east. Then a day will be devoted to the Grand Canyon. Over to LA and up route 1 to SF Bay.

Steven Wright is flipping hilarious. I like to think we're a lot of like. But not in our sense of humor.

Here are some cross country appropriate quotables.

I decided to leave and go to California, so I packed up my
Salvador Dali print of two blindfolded dental hygienists trying
to make a circle on an Etch-a-Sketch, and I headed for the
highway and began hitching. Within three minutes I got picked
up by one of those huge trailer trucks carrying 20 brand new
cars. I climbed up the side of the cab and opened the door.
The guy said, "I don't have much room up here, why don't you get
into one of the cars out back." So I did. And he was really
into picking people up because he picked up 19 more. We all had
our own cars. Then he went 90 miles per hour and we all got
speeding tickets.

Last year we drove across the country. We switched on the
driving... Every half mile... We had one cassette tape to
listen to on the entire trip... I don't remember what it was.

I saw a sign: "Rest Area 25 Miles". That's pretty big. Some
people must be really tired.

I like to pick up hitchhikers. When they get in the car I say,
"Put on your seat belt. I want to try something. I saw it once
in a cartoon, but I think I can do it."

I have a map of the United States... Actual size. It says,
"Scale: 1 mile = 1 mile." I spent last summer folding it. I
also have a full-size map of the world. I hardly ever unroll it.
People ask me where I live, and I say, "E6".

The other night I came home late, and tried to unlock my house
with my car keys. I started the house up. So, I drove it
around for a while. I was speeding, and a cop pulled me over.
He asked where I lived. I said, "right here, officer". Later,
I parked it on the freeway, got out, and yelled at all the cars,
"Get out of my driveway!"

One time a cop pulled me over for running a stop sign. He said,
"Didn't you see the stop sign?" I said, "Yeah, but I don't
believe everything I read."

I got my driver's license photo taken out of focus on purpose.
Now when I get pulled over the cop looks at it (moving it nearer
and farther, trying to see it clearly)... And says, "Here, you
can go."

We were in Salino, Utah when we were arrested for not going
through a green light. We pleaded "maybe". I asked the judge
if he knew what time it is, he did, and I said, "No further
questions."

I went to court for a parking ticket. I pleaded insanity. I
said, "Your honor, why would anyone in their right mind park in
the passing lane?"

When I get real bored, I like to drive downtown and get a great
parking spot, then sit in my car and count how many people ask
me if I'm leaving.

Yesterday I parked my car in a tow-away zone... When I came
back the entire area was missing.

And from before: When I was a baby, I kept a diary. Recently, I was rereading
it. It said, "Day 1 -- Still tired from the move. Day 2 --
Everybody talks to me like I'm an idiot."

Wake up San Francisco

I'm moving! I accepted Officially accepted a position with Del Monte located in Walnut Creek, CA. I'll be living with Kelley for the first bit and depending on how Bobby gets along with my chickens will determine how long I stay. I said goodbye to SF Wednesday and here is a little snippet into my trip.

I saw the Golden Gate Bridge (or as I like to call it .... Golden Cait)

I saw at least one creepster (there were no waves!! not sure what this mother was up to)

I went to the Chrome store

I went to the Timbuk2 store

I rode to the Headlands

I saw Mojo the giant dog

I listened to seals bark

and Bobby howl

In conclusion, over the course of 8 days (with two being travel days) I saw a hecka lot of stuff. I'm pumped for plenty more adventures and some seriously nice headland legs, headlegs?, no, headland legs.

San Franmustache

They are everywhere. And they are awesome. Unfortunately, I'm juuuuust not creepy enough to take pictures of them (barely, just barely).
