June 29, 2067

Yes, I had a glimpse into the future. It was....boring. As I stepped onto the bus this morning (yeah, totally lame and we apparently still all use them in the future), I looked up to check the time: June 29, 2067 8:37 am, I had stepped onto a bus from the future. Nothing had really physically changed which didn't upset me, however, since I was still on my way to complete my masters I realized that this daunting task may never be completed.

Men, I'm going to look smokin' hot at age 84,

- - College Kid - -

I think I'm trying to live out my last days as a college kid in the ultimate fashion....the college kid I never was. In the past few weeks I have spent more time out than I think I had collectively during the entire year past. Fortunately, I have been a college kid sans drinking (which I think may be the most uncollege-like trait possible) so that I can still function at school the following day.

Interestingly enough I think I'm learning a lot in the process. A friend of mine has recently been reading about body language and interactions among men and women..or men and men and women and women, whatever, but the art of flirting is the focus and now I have taken particular notice of trends. In my attempt to find 'the one' (or team, preferably -- Kona) I would like to enroll some of these tactics and work on my "game". Perhaps a sort of reel the fish in and let it go...no harm done.

The attempt last night failed miserably. After a mustache was drawn on me, I tried to give boys 'the eye'. This conversation piece landed as only that, a conversation piece. I thought it complimented my outfit well and matched the mood of the night even better. No numbers.

Any ideas

XcrossX

Day 1 for cross training. Thank goodness it is a rest day!! I'm pretty stoked about training and my old coach from UMass has posted a great plan for August
and September. Nice work Dave. Also, my xcoachx is going to help me out as well with some stuff a little more catered to my deathstyle.

Also this week I get to participate in 3 sensory evaluations costing companies 3 $20 gift cards to target. The kicker was you had to want to lose weight. These evaluations last all of 5 minutes. And, since they got me thinking about it, I decided with this $60 I'm going to buy something to help me lose weight. Since I am not quite a candidate for gastric bypass, I think I'll get something along the lines of a scale supplements. Plus (size) I think I'm only somewheres around the cutoff point to even be able to get the surgery.

I'll leave you with this: silver fillings are having the best day ever.

xoxo

WWCD?

To all the non-readers out there:

I've been off the radar for a little while now and I'm trying to make a comeback, a comeback of epic proportions. I pretty much had a busy May, a terrible June and a hectic July. I don't really feel that things are calming down for me either, however, I'm prepared to fuel this stored anguish into 30 minutes of running and 2 hours of biking. It's cross time baby.

To heck with grammar;
Caitlin

More Stellar Press

Older but worth the read...well, in my opinion anyway

CAITLIN T-BOMBER RIDES REALLY FAST

Going on her seventh week of base training, Caitlin T-Bomber’s season is looking like a fast one. “I haven’t skipped a beat this year. I’ve been really inspired by my sponsors and the local, as well as national, race scene to really boost my game”. After being picked up by team Vanderkitten , as well as other personal sponsors (her favorite = Honey Stinger, obv.), she enlisted fellow Stinger rider and certified coach, Aaron Oakes, to put together a training plan that will get her on the podium. “I actually LOVE kicking a** so this is perfect”.

Besides taking dignity from boys when showing off her technical skills, Caitlin gives tons back to the cycling community. In 2007 she founded the Atlantic Collegiate Cycling Conference cyclocross series and placed 2nd in the series. She is looking forward to a winning season and finally graduating from college. Stinger riders make us proud.

And adding to my ruling:

CAITLIN T-BOMBER DOMINATES ATLANTIC COLLEGIATE CYCLING CONFERENCE

Stinger rider Caitlin has won 3 cross country races 2 short track races, 1 super D, 1 down hill and 1 dual slalom race and a partridge in a pear tree to put her in the lead of the conference. In her other two races that she didn't win, Caitlin placed 2nd.

North Carolina State University held their home race this weekend involving a fast course. "I'm not a sprinter and the prologues generally hurt me. I drafted until we were close to the woods and I sprinted first onto the trail. I'm a much better technical rider than any of the girls in the conference but I can lose time easily on the hills and straights so I have to get in the woods first"
Caitlin races for the North Carolina State University in the collegiate series and team Vanderkitten in non collegiate races.

Caitlin on XC races "the competition is pretty tough but I push hard because I know that the boys only went off two minutes before me and I want to catch them even more than I want to win" Caitlin on dating "it's hard even though I'm surrounded by them 24 sev. My time is filled up with bikes, school and racing so I don't even have the opportunity". This weekend Caitlin will attend Crosstober fest; a cyclocross event filled with bikes and beer.

I can't wait to start racing. I'm thinking about starting next week but it's up in the air. There is a local race in Wilmington, NC where I've never been but always wanted to see. I think I could sweep it.

STINGER RIDER BURNS COMPETITION AT BURN 24 HOUR CHALLENGE USING STINGER

This weekend Stinger rider Caitlin T-Bomber raced with the big boys in the Burn 24 Hour Challenge in Wilkesboro, NC. Team members included Inland Construction riders Charlie Pendry, Lucas Livermon, Matt Rotroff and Michael Lockheart with a stingin' Vanderkitten, Caitlin T-Bomber. The team entered into the coed category and gave out free tickets for all to the pain train.

"I can't believe how fun it was to be part of a team like that. It was a whole different game than any other cross country race and I really enjoyed it. I mean, I played basketball once....completely different!". Previously enjoying the individual success one achieves in mountain biking, Caitlin comments on success in groups "I guess there is no I in team but there is me and meat both of which are awesome". Right? Yes!

The Inland Construction/Vanderkitten empire placed first in the coed category and second overall in the Burn 24 Hour Challenge. Caitlin says Charlie said "Caitlin's awesome, possibly perfect, and I would love to have her join our team again".

Team Inland Construction/ Vanderkitten = Team Total Deconstruction of Competition

This weekend I participated in the 8th Burn 24 hour challenge. We managed to snag the title for the fastest day lap, night lap, coed division and came darn close to sweeping the entire event (2nd overall!!).

The team consisted of:
Charles "Charlie" Pendry
Matthew "Matt" Rotroff
Michael "Mike" Lockheart
Lucas "Lucas" Livermon

and myself
Caitlin T-Bomber (name has been changed to not interfere with my job applications)

We kicked it hardcore underneath a tent....yup, lots of sitting going on. In between periods of sitting someone would kick it on the trail. The trail, in my opinion, was quite stellar. Not really technical but lots of burms and switch backs that you could hit with speed. I felt like superman/woman, whatev. Either way it was fun.

My legs felt pretty great on the trail. I had some fast times both day and night which I was really proud of. To top it off Mr. Pendry, a friend and hero, was pretty stoked for my success as well. It's quite the confidence booster when someone who is getting consistent top 20's in the national series compliments you on your speed.

I was passed once on the trail and that's only by the team that won. All other periods consisted of me flying by others similar to any scene with me on the highway but the other way around (I drive like I'm already grandma T-Bomber).

Thanks to all the sponsors who rule so hard! You rule!
