Lap 1 - relax
Lap 2 - try hard but suck
Lap 3 - remember how to mountain bike, catch, and pass
This weekend went like such:
Lap 1 - suck and give self challenge of entering the woods close to last
Lap 2 - crash while moving up places
Lap 3 - remember how to rule at mountain biking until chain breaks then scoooter you way until the finish
Not exactly how I had intended the weekend to go but it did make for a pretty epic race.
Now short track I like to do a sort of similar race plan:
Beginning - let the girls get ahead of me, again the challenge is more fun
Middle - end warm up, begin catch up
End - regret not warming up, finish strong
However, at nationals it went a little something like this
Beginning - Put new chain on in combination with old cassette and allow skipping and serious chain suck to occur, enter woods last
Middle - Remember how to mountain bike, pass girls, resume chain suck in the woods
End - Get pulled as you are moving up with a vengeance
Next time? I don't think so. Although the pHd isn't out of the question it's pretty unlikely.
Here are some pix from nationals and a few LOL cats below.
